Saudi Arabian University conducts Ambient Air Quality Monitoring with Gasmet DX4015

The King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia has trusted Enviro & Industrial Solutions ME instrumentation with their initiative to perform ambient air quality monitoring for their research program. The university has chosen the Gasmet DX4015 to assist with their technical strategy.

Ambient Air Monitoring Research Program

The program primarily helps the students to learn the structure of the atmosphere, the types of pollutants present in it, and the importance of air quality monitoring. Poor air quality presents a threat for human and environmental health therefore finding solutions requires a comprehensive understanding of the problem.

As the Gasmet DX4015 is used for ambient air analysis, it can be used to prompt awareness on the contaminants in the air we breathe. There have been many news features on environmental challenges in the world. They are also presented some engineering concepts such as how air quality measurements are made and how the technology works.

In addition, this initiative will perform quality control, quality assurance and analysis of pollutant concentrations that are measured the monitoring location. This supports air quality management and guidelines development.

About Gasmet DX4015

Gasmet DX4015 is a portable FTIR gas analyzer for ambient air analysis. The key features of the Gasmet DX4015 include a high sensitivity sample cell for the lowest possible detection limits and a built-in-pump, which means that there is no need to use a separate sampling system. The analyzer can be powered with 12 VDC from for example an external battery, so it can easily be used in field conditions where mains power is not available.

The Gasmet DX4015 can measure up to 50 gases simultaneously, and the addition of new measurement parameters is easy, without any need for hardware changes. Gasmet DX4015’s sample cell is heated to 50 °C, which allows measurements to be done in conditions where high humidity is expected and provides temperature stability in changing conditions.
